These are just some of my many photos of African Striped Mice that I have taken at Drusillas Park Zoo, near Eastbourne in East Sussex. These are one of the smallest and cutest animals at Drusillas and one of my personal favourites.

Latin name: Lemniscomys barbarus

Also known as: African Striped Grass Mouse, Chipmunk Mouse, Striped Field Mouse, Zebra Mouse, Zebra Rat.

Location at Drusillas: Just after the Rats, opposite the Owls and before the Red Ruffed Lemurs.

	Two of the cute African Striped Mice at Drusillas snuggled up together, almost looking like they were doing something rude, but don't worry, they were just cuddled up.
	The African Striped Mice always seem to be very friendly and sociable animals, they always seem to be cuddling up at Drusillas, even when the weather is very warm.
	Just one African Striped Mouse in this photo, their enclosure is always well stocked with logs and other bits of wood for them to climb around on and nest in.
	Another two African Striped Mice. The enclosure they are in is quite small and being opposite the Owls I wonder how many people visit Drusillas Park and do not see them.
	An African Striped Mouse is about the same size as a normal mouse and much smaller than a rat, one of their most noticable features are their dark stripes.
	A great close up of three very cute African Striped Mice, I wonder if they make very good pets? We have had normal mice before and really liked them as pets.
	This is a wider angle shot I took of the three African Striped Mice from the above picture, they kind of look like they have no legs when all snuggled up like that.
	To regulate the temperature in the enclosure they have heat lamps to keep the African Striped Mice warm, this one was sitting under the lamp in the warm red glow.
	I spotted this sweet little African Striped Mouse sitting on a twig at Drusillas, they are so tiny and cute, I want to pick them up and squeeze them so tight!
	The final one of my photos of the African Striped Mice at Drusillas Park Zoo in Alfriston, I do have more photos of them, but these are some of my favourites.
