Here is what our team members think of some of the fictional aliens that are shown on science fiction TV programs and in the movies.
Sadly as far as I know none of us are still running SETI these days and are not even in contact any more 8o( Shame as it was a nice group of people and fun to all have been working towards a common goal!

I like watching Farscape and ST: Voyager. In Voyager the aliens are all to humanoid, but that takes the fun out of it. Farscape has much more imagination. There are massive living ships, called Leviathans - the main one featured is Moya. She's cool. The pilot, called Pilot, as it happens, is a creature who is chosen to physically bond with the ship. He's cool too. It's all fantastically done. The special effects are amazing.

I agree with Susan about the humanoid style aliens in most series, I know they have universal translators in Star Trek, but I do get very sick of seeing extra-terrestrial creatures that look and sound almost the same as us boring humans. There have been a few exceptions, such as the Xindi that were major characters in "Enterprise", they at least had strange versions such as the Aquatics. I like the idea of aliens being aliens! Why do almost all aliens just walk along on two legs, why not have more flying aliens or extra-terrestrials made of pure energy. Santuary is not about aliens, just lots of strange creatures, that often don't just look like a human in a rubber suit like they always used to be in the early Star Treks and Doctor Who episodes. I am a big horror fan, so I do like the Aliens from the Alien films, they have to be my personal favourite film monsters and the Daleks are my favourite TV aliens. I know they are slightly humanoid, but at least there is a good reason for that.
