Reset Button by Dean Thorpe
Press the reset button,
try that bit again.
When you mess a game up,
you can try again.
Real lifes not as simple,
you can't try again.
Once something has happened,
you can't go again.
Mistakes that we all make,
we repeat again.
Press the reset button,
can't I try again?
Anybody that plays computer games knows how useful the reset button can be! To be able to reload an earlier save game, before the mistake you just made or just to try a different route in the game. If only we could have one of those in real life, you mess a day up completely, just press the reset life button and go back to the start of the day and try again. Maybe we would all just make the same mistakes again, but it would be nice to try. I think you do learn by your mistakes, so it is important that they have happened, but some mistakes never go away and effect you every day for the rest of your life. You do something, you regret it, why can't you get a second chance? For example I managed to get myself hit by a car at the age of seventeen, every day since then I have felt pain, every day I have struggled, why can't I just say "Wow that was a stupid thing to do" and not have to put up with all the crap it still causes me 18 years later. There are a few things like that in my life. I know a lot of people have been through much worse things and I am sure they have suffered enough. Imagine if it was like some cheesy Disney film where you could go to bed ages 35 and wake the next morning back in you old bed, aged 10 years old, knowing everything you know. I don't mean lottery numbers, sports results like Back to the Future 2 or anything like that, just be older and wiser in your own body. Still remember where and when you are going to meet your wife etc. but also remember where the bully that jumped you was hiding and other things that could help you not make such a mess of somethings.
