The Perfect man by Dean Thorpe

The perfect man, I try to be
Always be there, just you and me
Be by your side, no matter what
Deep in my heart, its you I've got
Life can go wrong, I drive you mad
Last thing I want, to make you sad
So never leave, and say goodbye
No perfect man, but I do try

Breakdown of the poem:

The perfect man, I try to be
I personally do not think the perfect man exists, but I will never give up trying! I know I am far from perfect sometimes, but I also know there are a lot worse men than me.

Always be there, just you and me
I promise I will always try to be there and even when I am not, then I know its Yolanda that will be on my brain all day.

Be by your side, no matter what
Whatever life throws at us I will be with Yolanda, nothing could split us apart. Life without Yolanda is no life at all, I would rather live without food and water, than without her.

Deep in my heart, its you I've got
OK, well maybe there is room for two loves in my heart, but apart from Yolanda and Joanne (our daughter) there will be no other.

Life can go wrong, I drive you mad
I think most couples drive each other mad sometimes, its part of the fun of being a couple! If everything in life always went exactly to plan, then life would be very boring.

Last thing I want, to make you sad
I know I can be a pain in the bum, I get depressed and moody, but I still always love Yolanda.

So never leave, and say goodbye
To quote Bryan Adams "If you ever leave me, can I come too". Yolanda and Joanne really are my life, without them I am nothing. I really could not cope without them.

No perfect man, but I do try
I will never give up trying to be everything Yolanda wants me to be.
