Photos of our visit to Benidorm in Spain
These photographs were all taken on our holiday to Benidorm in Spain, we stayed at the hotel Regente. I also have loads of pictures of Mundomar (A great Spanish Zoo) and Guadalest (A place in the Spanish mountains with incredible views). I would be tempted to go back for another holiday to Spain just to go to Mundomar again!
The holiday was great, we had never been to Spain and I had been worried about the bad things you sometimes hear about Spain and Spanish holidays in general (lager louts and topless bars don't make a great holiday for a 7 year old), but we did not have any problems (I am not sure I would want to visit in the summer holidays though!). The weather was sunny almost all of the time and it was just about warm enough to swim in the beautiful sea, we did try the hotel Rengente's pool, but that was freezing. Apart from the very cold outdoor pool the Hotel Regente was great, it did seem more aimed at older people, but there was plenty to do in the area. So if you want to go to Spain and are looking for a hotel to stay at in Benidorm then I would recommend the hotel Regente. Virtually everybody spoke English, so there was no need to worry about converting English to Spanish and Spanish to English all the time, but I did find Spanish interesting and tried out the few bits I had learned. One day I would like to learn to speak Spanish properly.

This is the view out of the plane window as we were coming into land in Spain at Alicante Airport to begin our holiday.

This is the view from our Hotel Regente room, we were on the top floor of the Hotel Regente (9th). This view over Benidorm is looking away from the beach.

This photo is of a group of palm trees in the middle of the beach.

The hotel Regente buffet with all you can eat food, including steak and swordfish!

A photo of one of the many junk based robots placed around the town in Benidorm, strange, but pretty cool.

This pretty area was up on the cliffs with great views of most of Benidorm. Such a nice contrast to all the hotels etc.

The tallest building in Benidorm, would have loved to have gone to the top of that for some photos.

Being morning people it was nice to get out before the town was busy, just a shame most places did not open until 10am.

This strange James Bond like vehicle had a downstairs with windows all round so you could watch all the fish swim past.

This is a view towards the area on the cliffs I liked so much, taken while on a boat trip to Isla Benidorm.

More modern looking tower blocks dominating the scene, this photo was taken from one of the pleasure boat trips.

I was not very warm, but we did all get in the sea, this is my daughter Joanne playing in the waves.

A pair of street performers, kind of looking like they were dressed to get married, but with red noses on! Only in Spain!

A brightly coloured building I spotted through a dark pathway between buildings in the backstreets of Benidorm.

A look towards the new town with all its hotels, photo taken from the bit on the cliffs.

Another view from our hotel Regente room at night, I loved all the colours. There were new hotels being built all over town. A very modern looking Spain.
