These are just a few of my photos from the 2008 World Naked Bike Ride on the 7th of June 2008, these were from Brighton in the UK, but there were many other events around the World. The events were held for a number of reasons, mostly to help promote cycling as an green alternative to using cars. People do need to think before using cars, I am not saying we should all get rid of our cars, but most people use them for journeys they could walk. I am disabled and would be lost without my car, but I wonder how many school runs and trips to the corner shop etc. could be so easily avoided. The reason for the nudity is to show the vulnerability of cyclists, plus public nudity is great for publicity! Some chose to go topless or wear costumes. I bet there would not have been as many photographers if they riders had been all been fully dressed! I wish I could ride a bike, I would love to ride round Brighton naked! The ride started from The Level and toured around the town, through the main shopping area, past the beautiful Brighton Pavilion and many other local landmarks, finishing up on the naturist beach.
Why are the photos censored here?
This site I like to try to keep as officially "family friendly" as possible. My wife and I took our ten year old daughter with us to the naked bike ride and there were many other children watching and even some children (clothed of course) joining in the bike ride. I think its funny how a lot of parents think nothing of letting kids play violent computer games and watch gory films, but then go all funny at the thought of them seeing a naked or even topless person. I have no problem with public nudity or nudity in general and even lived on a naturist camp for a while!
Are the photos available uncensored?
There are nearly a hundred photos of the 2008 world naked bike ride on my other site and yes, they are all uncensored as they should be.
