A selection of my photos from the Hastings Half Marathon, held every March. A 13.1 mile road race around Hastings in East Sussex. Pics include everything from top athletes / runners to the people doing it purely as a fun run, there is also a list of the top runners. A lot of people say its the hardest half marathon in the UK due to all the hills and perfect training for the London Marathon.
My wife ran in the 2005 and 2006 Hastings Marathon, she completed the full distance both times and her fastest time was 2:39:14. I am very proud of her as she raised hundreds of pounds for the NSPCC. One day she would like to try to do the London Marathon and if she does then I will make sure I add the photos here for you all to see. I have only seen the London Marathon once (apart from on TV) and I was amazed at the number of people there!
2008 Photos
Sorry for the reduced amount of photos this year, the damp was really effecting my leg and because of that I had a nasty fall and hurt it even more! If anybody saw somebody in a fluorescent jacket and on crutches dragging their leg along behind them like an extra from Shaun of the dead, it was almost certainly me! 8o( I did get a nice lot of the start of the race, plus the setting up and people warming up, but I had to leave shortly after the start.

The 2008 weather was also pretty crap for photos, so sorry as well for the quality!
Despite the poor weather the atmosphere was still very good and there was definitely not a lack of runners, personally I think anybody that even attempted such a hard course on such a cold, wet and windy day deserves a medal. Congratulations to you all!
