Grumpy Gnome is a photography (mostly digital) group set up in association with Hastings Mind of past or present mental health service users. Members are meeting on a weekly basis in the Hastings and Rother area to discuss and to work on photography projects. The group has had work displayed at the White Rock theatre, which resulted in a number of sales. Our photographs are currently on display in Battle Health Centre, Woodlands mental health unit and our work is now starting to be shown in doctors surgeries too. We have booked space at a large cafe (eat @ ours ltd) for October and we have other places in the pipeline to display and sell our images. All proceeds go back into the group to assist independency. All meetings are informal with emphasis on developing skills and mutual support. Membership is free and we have a couple of spare digital cameras for people without them to use and we are also willing to offer help and advice to members who are looking to get a new camera (digital or film based).
