Welcome to my ever expanding collection of photographs, on this page you will find links to some of my more artistic photographs that I did not feel had a place in the place photos or event photos.. I am a trained photographer and used to know my way around a darkroom, but these days I much prefer to work with digital. I find digital gives me much more freedom to experiment and to take photos I would not have risked using up film on in the old days. I am a pretty obsessed photographer and do not leave the house without a camera!
Black and white pictures of the Hastings area Some of my many pictures of the Hastings area that I have taken. Most of these were taken as full colour photographs, but I have converted them to black and white.

Pictures of Animals Photographs of animals. These are just general animal photos I have taken while out and about in East Sussex. Most of these nature pictures were taken at Rye or Bodiam Castle.

A selection of my black and white pictures Here are a selection of the black and white pictures I have taken. I do most of my photographic art work in colour, but I do love working with black and white as it can create some very artistic / abstract effects.

Comment written about me by the organisers of the "In our minds own eye" exhibition".
"Dean works with both digital and 35mm. He has amassed an incredible amount of photos over the years and will be displaying a selection for us. (He's gonna have a tough time choosing). Deans has a skill for finding a beatiful image in an everyday environment and can make a crumpled coke can on the beach look like a masterpiece. Take a look at his website to see his web design work and more of his photo's."
If you want to make sure you are seeing the photos as they are supposed to look, please check the brightness and contrast on your monitor are set correctly. Have a look at the bars below and you should be able to see 20 different shades of grey from bright white to pure black and the same for the red, green and blue. If not then please adjust your monitor levels to the correct settings.

The above test was created by me, feel free to use it on your own sites, but please consider giving me credit for it and maybe link somewhere on your site.
I now have an online profile on the Saatchi Gallery web site.
